If you have some time to spare before a flight, you can visit Virgin America Loft. If you’re a passenger departing from Terminal 3, you can get a day pass which costs $30. Sound a bit pricey, but just listen to what you get. Food and snacks, free Wi-Fi, and unlimited cocktails. There is no better place to relax before a flight in the entire LAX.
Parking tips
If you haven’t opted for private transportation that would get you safely and soundly in time for LAX airport departures, then you have to fight the parking fight. Airport parking often isn’t cheap, and finding a parking space can also be a tall order.
The cheapest parking is in Lot C. Another great thing about this place is that you can leave your vehicle there for up to 30 days. There’s also a free shuttle running between the Central Terminal Area and this lot, so it is an especially convenient way to get to where you need to be.
Miscellaneous tips
Don’t rush when boarding. You can test your luck by boarding last, possibly receiving a free upgrade. If upper class seats are available, economy class passengers are usually the ones to be bumped. If you are literally the last person to board, you can freely jump into a free business class seat. Chances are the seat will not be filled soon.
If you have a really long layover, and would like to soak in some sun, you don’t have to lug around all your bags with you. Just take a two-minute taxi ride to LAX luggage storage, where you can place all your belongings for just $7 a day. Throw in an extra $5, and they’ll even pick up and drop off your luggage. Certainly worth a little money.
