You’ve checked LAX airport departures, you’ve booked private San Diego to LAX car service, and all that remains is to find your way through this large airport, and board your flight. Well, we have some hacks that will make your time at the LAX a lot easier.
Time saving tips
The ability to save time at places as hectic as large airports is worth its weight in gold. Especially if you’re on a tight schedule. There are several things you can do to make your check-in procedure as effective as it can be.
Chose the left line. Easy enough, but there is a reason for this. You see, most of the people are right handed, making them naturally inclined to gravitate towards the right. So, the line on the left should be shorter and faster moving.
Cover as many of the aspects of your travelling procedure online. That means online check-in, which significantly reduces the amount of time spent at the airport. Also, you can check airport conditions in real time online, as well as LAX airport departures. If you have the time, read online comments, as they are usually up-to-date and full of information you might need.
If flying United, you can go easily bypass longer security lines by performing your check-in at Terminal 6. Finally, you can apply for a five-year TSA Pre✓® membership. Passengers with this perk have been shown to wait 5 minutes or less. And it’s only $85 for five years.
In case of your flight getting cancelled, or if you’re experiencing a really long delay, you will probably find yourself in a sea of people headed for the help desk. Instead of wasting even more of your time there, get on your phone and phone the airline. The person on the phone can do everything a gate agent can. Just without you waiting in line.
Money saving tips
During hotter days, and pretty much all days are hot in LA, you need to stay hydrated. Bearing in mind that a tiny water bottle costs $4 at the airport, it’s far better to come prepared. Put an empty water bottle, and, after check-in, go to a drinking fountain. Refill it as many times you wish, while saving the money for something else.
If you have some time to spare before a flight, you can visit Virgin America Loft. If you’re a passenger departing from Terminal 3, you can get a day pass which costs $30. Sound a bit pricey, but just listen to what you get. Food and snacks, free Wi-Fi, and unlimited cocktails. There is no better place to relax before a flight in the entire LAX.
If you haven’t opted for private transportation that would get you safely and soundly in time for LAX airport departures, then you have to fight the parking fight. Airport parking often isn’t cheap, and finding a parking space can also be a tall order.
The cheapest parking is in Lot C. Another great thing about this place is that you can leave your vehicle there for up to 30 days. There’s also a free shuttle running between the Central Terminal Area and this lot, so it is an especially convenient way to get to where you need to be.
Don’t rush when boarding. You can test your luck by boarding last, possibly receiving a free upgrade. If upper class seats are available, economy class passengers are usually the ones to be bumped. If you are literally the last person to board, you can freely jump into a free business class seat. Chances are the seat will not be filled soon.
If you have a really long layover, and would like to soak in some sun, you don’t have to lug around all your bags with you. Just take a two-minute taxi ride to LAX luggage storage, where you can place all your belongings for just $7 a day. Throw in an extra $5, and they’ll even pick up and drop off your luggage. Certainly worth a little money.
